Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information ThermEase collects when you visit thermease.store or buy from us, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We never sell your personal information.
Who we are
ThermEase is run by connor walker, trading as ThermEase. We are the controller of your personal information under UK data protection law. You can contact us about privacy at thermease4@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses.
- Order details: what you buy, return or cancel, and the price you pay.
- Payment details: your payment is processed by Shopify and our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, chat or contact form.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and saved addresses.
- Device and browsing information: your IP address, browser, device type, and how you use our site, collected through cookies and similar technology.
- Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up to our emails.
How we use it, and our lawful reasons
- To take, deliver and support your order, including returns, refunds and customer service. We do this to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep our store secure and prevent fraud. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in protecting our business and customers.
- To keep financial records, because tax and accounting laws require it.
- To send you marketing emails about our products and offers. We do this only if you have agreed, or if you have bought from us before and did not opt out. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how people use our site and improve it. We use analytics and advertising cookies only with your consent where the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We share only what each company needs to do its job:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and checkout and processes payments.
- TeemDrop, our fulfilment partner, which packs and ships orders from its warehouses outside the UK. It receives your name, delivery address, phone number and the items you ordered.
- Delivery companies such as YunExpress, DHL and Royal Mail, which receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel.
- Payment providers you choose at checkout.
- Our accountant, legal advisers, and public authorities when the law requires it.
Shopify also processes some information as its own controller, for example if you use Shop Pay or the Shop app. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.
Sending information outside the UK
Some of the companies above store or handle information outside the UK, including in Canada, the United States and China. When we send your details to TeemDrop and its carriers, it is because that is necessary to deliver your order, and we send only what delivery needs. For other transfers, we rely on UK adequacy decisions or on approved contract terms such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the basket and checkout; these cannot be switched off. We use analytics and marketing cookies only if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the banner or your browser settings.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years after the end of the tax year of your purchase, as UK tax law requires.
- Customer service messages: 2 years after we last hear from you.
- Your account: until you ask us to close it.
- Marketing: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- have it deleted, where we no longer need to keep it
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing
- receive it in a format you can pass to another company
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email thermease4@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first and we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping your information safe
Our store runs on Shopify, which encrypts payments and meets the PCI DSS card security standard. We limit access to your information to what is needed to run your order. No website is completely secure, so please do not email us your card details.
Children
Our store is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects you, we will tell you by email.
